Street Fighter IV, the much anticipated and critically acclaimed fighting game released last week, has also inspired Hollywood to to try and cash in on all the hype.  Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li was released in theaters yesterday and appears to be the worst movie ever made.  At the current time of my writing this (Saturday February 28th, 2:20pm EST) Rotten Tomatoes displays the movie holding a steady, rock-bottom score or 00%.  Yes, not a single person has written a positive review, not even some crazed Street Fighter fan boy.

There aren’t any top critic reviews yet, there may never be as it’s probably just a waste of time.  Looking through the reviews to find something positive I came across one quote, “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li is indeed terrible, but in kind of an awesome way.”  Apparently they got none of the characters costumes right, the story is non-existent, the acting is not only bad but things that should have been outtakes are left in the movie, and Chun-Li uses Guile’s “Flash Kick.”  Honestly, I can not wait to see this movie.

Currently slated for a Q1 2010 release which will put it only a few months behind Dragon Age: Origins and hopefully only a few months ahead of The Old Republic.  Bioware Rulez!

The latest Judd Apatow trailer debuted and it contains all your typical Apatow actors but adds Adam Sandler. Interesting combo and one that will no doubt be a successful one. This looks a little different than your typical Apatow romp and contains a nice heartwarming element without sacrificing any hilarity.

I’m looking forward to seeing this one on July 31st. Add another to the growing list of promising summer movies.

Sometimes, you just take one look at a trailer and know how awesome it is immediately. This movie is one of them. Quentin Tarantino proudly presents The Inglourious Basterds. And yes, that is the correct spelling. WWII movies have been getting stale and this looks like it will definitely bring something fresh and exciting. If the trailer is any indication, we’re in for one kickass movie. See if you can spot BJ Novak from the Office! August 21st can’t come soon enough.

Edit: I just want to add how goddamn awesome Brad Pitt’s last line is. This is one of the best trailers i’ve ever seen.

2/21 Edit: I was just looking at the imdb site for Basterds. Samuel Jackson narrates and Mike Myers plays a general. It just keeps getting better.

IGN gave it a 9.3. Everyone else likes it too.  (so far) I feel like it’s kind of sneaking up on us, but DUDES, this is a new Street Fighter. Not Street Fighter II Hyper Turbo Acceleration Machine Ex 4 or another one of those dumb remix games – dis is dah real deal. Who else will be playing this?

Legit? Fake? Judge for yourself, but it looks to me like it’s real and will be set inside a casino. Cool, I guess…I don’t know how that can top a shopping mall, though.

I’m not really Spanish, relax.  I am, however, very excited that the RX Bandits have announced that they are putting out a new album this summer (and possibly going on tour) and I’ve been following them closely waiting for them to give a hint of a date.  Until then I will just listen to the old records and watch videos of them playing various shows when I need my fix.  Lucky for me, and all of you, they have posted two video on their myspace of them in the studio working on some new material and I have to admit, all fanboyism aside, it sounds great.

It’s got a lot of energy and I love the little guitar solo, it’s certainly not something I’m used to seeing them do and it reminds me a lot of Progress for some reason.  And then the second video…

The sound quality of the video isn’t so great but you can imagine what it will sound like once the album is released.  I’m very excited, all of the samples sound awesome the only thing I’m worried about is that lack of horns as it seems that they haven’t gotten anyone to replace Steve Borth on saxophone leaving them with only a trombone player, or as some might say a tromboner.  I thought about that for about 5 minutes and giggled to myself so it’s staying in.

Both of these videos were pulled right of their myspace which seems to be the best source of information about anything they’ve been up to, better than their official website which was only updated twice throughout 2008.
